Introducing HOPE CENTER

opening January 2025

Hope Initiative was introduced to the community in February of this year, and since then it’s been a whirlwind of growth and opportunity. Our partnerships and community events have allowed us to distribute HOPE to Galesburg and the surrounding region, and we’re just getting started!

In May, Hope Initiative took possession of the former Galesburg Rescue Mission, previously Douglas School, at 435 E 3rd Street. While our original plan was to renovate and occupy that building, we have since been offered a property that will better fit our mission.

Hope Initiative has been given the incredible opportunity to manage a 77,000 square foot building centrally located in Galesburg, the previous Churchill Junior High School.

Our vision is to create a network of nonprofit organizations, where Hope Initiative along with other agencies can hold their offices. In this way, we will be providing easily accessible resources to the community, all together, in one central location.

Down the road, we see opportunities to serve kids and youth in our community through after school programs, tutoring, tech schools, and more.

Additionally, this property has a 619-seat auditorium, gymnasium, classroom space, commercial kitchen and cafeteria, and more that can be rented by nonprofits and businesses for conferences and meetings, and also by local residents for parties and celebrations, at an affordable rate.

We are thrilled to introduce HOPE CENTER, opening in January 2025!
